1. 1. Download the firmware update.

1. 2. Double-click SP23908.exe, and the
   click NEXT.

1. 3. Accept the license terms, and the
   click NEXT.

1. 4. Insert a blank (floppy) diskett
   into the floppy drive.

1. 5. Click OK to create the updat
   diskette.

1. 6. After the update diskette i
   created, click OK to continue.

1. 7. Leave the update diskette in th
   floppy drive and restart the PC.

1. 8. As soon as the HP/­Compaq log
   screen appears, press the ESC (escape) key.

1. 9. Select "Floppy" from the Select
   Boot First Device list on the Boot Menu, and then press ENTER.

1. 10. After the update has been applied
   remove the diskette from the floppy drive.

1. 11. Shutdown the PC for at least 3
   seconds and then turn it back on to complete the update.

• Issue causing only the first session
  on a multi-session DVD+R to be recognized if the DVD+R was written
  in DVD read-only mode.

• PC-Doctor issue causing it to identify
  the DVD-ROM drive as a DVD+RW driv

• - Fixes incompatibilities with the DVD
  title, "The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring, Special
  Extended Edition."

• While performing this update, do not
  Power-off, Suspend or Hibe
